These terms govern the use of Ouvir, a service operated by Colby Thomas (colby@jrnxf.co). By creating an account or using the service, you accept these terms and the privacy policy.
The service
Ouvir generates European Portuguese audio episodes from written requests, with a synced transcript and a private podcast feed. The content is produced by artificial intelligence models and may contain errors of language, fact or pronunciation. It is meant for practising listening comprehension, not as a reliable source of information.
Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your password and your feed address secret, and for everything done on your account.
- Access may be limited to a list of authorised emails. We may refuse or close accounts at our discretion, in particular in case of abuse.
Acceptable use
You may not use the service to:
- generate content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing or that infringes the rights of third parties;
- try to get around limits, access other users' accounts or data, or overload the service;
- resell the service or the generated episodes as your own product.
Content
The requests you write are yours. The episodes generated from them are for your personal use; you can save them and listen to them wherever you like. You grant us only the licence needed to generate, store and deliver them to you through the app and the feed. Requests and scripts are sent to the model providers named in the privacy policy to be processed.
Availability and changes
The service is provided as is, with no guarantee of continuous availability. Episode generation depends on external services and may fail or become unavailable. We may change, limit or discontinue features at any time. If we discontinue the service, we will try to give reasonable notice so you can download your episodes.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect loss or damage resulting from the use of the service or from errors in the generated content. Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law guarantees you as a consumer.
Termination
You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account in Settings, or ask for it to be deleted by writing to colby@jrnxf.co. We may suspend or close your account if you violate these terms.
Changes to the terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the last change. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
The service is operated from Portugal and these terms are governed by Portuguese law. If you live in another country, you keep the rights that the mandatory rules of that country guarantee you.
